Bend, Oregon

Michael, his mom, and I just got back from a 5 day trip to Bend, Oregon.

This trip was mainly about getting away, refreshing, exploring nature, and eating good food…all of which we did a lot of.

Michael’s dad recently passed away so this was a good chance for us to be together and to just have a good time. I was mainly excited about, for once, traveling somewhere where I didn’t have to shoot a wedding – yay for actual vacationssssss  :-)

If you don’t know much about Bend, it’s a small city nestled just east of the central cascade mountain range. It’s a hot spot for all things outdoors (mountain biking, paddle boarding, hiking & winter sports) and I got the sense that everybody that lives in Bend loves Bend. I can’t blame them because it was so beautiful, the air was so fresh, there were so many delicious restaurants & breweries, and sunshine graces the residents for about 300 days out of the year. I guess that’s why everyone was so happy there!

We did a lot of hiking and eating and ended up meeting up with one of Michael’s friends, Dale Partridge and his family – and more of their friends – (such a friendly, hospitable group!) for some dinners, breakfasts, drinks, bonfires and hikes.

It was a jam-packed trip and of course I took some photos…enjoy!

Jade + Jim | New York City Engagement

A few weeks ago I flew up to NYC for a engagement session. I was only there about 2 1/2 days…but covered a lot of ground  😉

Some trip highlights:

– learning archery at a women’s college in Brooklyn
– eating dim sum at Jing Fong in Chinatown
– seeing the view from the ESB
– seeing the Brooklyn Bridge for the 1st time
– eating….eating…and more eating

Jade and Jim and their daughter Chloe were AMAZING hosts and I had such a fun time getting to know them and exploring the city. Here are a few of my favorites from their New York City Engagement session.
