Julie ‹‹do what you love››

Do What You Love.

It’s a core belief Michael and I try to live by.

So. It only makes sense that we’re drawn to those who share this idea.

Enter, this series.

It’s a personal project for us. Finding others who are KILLIN’ it, living life, doing what they love. And then photographing them.

Today, I bring you my new friend, Julie.

She is the sweet and passionate person behind Julie Lampros Skincare.

Julie is one of those people who you just can’t help but be inspired by. Her laugh is infectious, her smile is like a hug, and there’s just a warmth that radiates off of her – when you’re around her, you just feel good about life.

I had the privilege of being welcomed into her gorgeous home to shoot her for this series. Her home studio is so peaceful and *filled* with natural light. She connects with her clients in such a personal way – and I can attest to that because she recently did my makeup for a personal shoot  :-)

If you are in the market for a makeup artist or skincare extraordinaire, then I’d highly recommend Julie.

Enjoy a few faves from our shoot!

Ashley + Nate ‹‹Cannon Beach Engagement Photographer››

The beach! The beach! The beach! Yes…I love the beach. What is it about the combination of sand, sun and water that just makes you forget any and all troubles?

This was such a fun session for me. Ashley and Nate were so chill, aaaaand I got to work for two hours…barefoot.

My mother-in-law was in town for this shoot, so we decided to all head to Cannon Beach early and just make a day out of it. When we got there at around noon, it was pretty foggy and cool. Which was what I was expecting because that’s what my iPhone told me to prepare for. I love the fog, and how moody it makes everything, so I was totally going to embrace it for that evening’s shoot.

But that’s not what we got.

After about an hour of walking around, scouting locations, the fog pushed all the clouds away and the sun came out. THE SUN! At the Oregon Coast! Woo hoo! The blue water was shining like a blanket of diamonds, the sand was so warm. It was magical.

Anyway, after a day of enjoying the beach with my family, I met up with Ashley and Nate at their beach house and we had some fun. They are such a sweet couple, and I can’t wait for their September wedding at Rogue Farms.

P.S. I have to thank Michael and Sylvia (my mother-in-law) for building such a fantastically cute beach fire  😉

Enjoy a few of my faves from their shoot!

Sage ‹‹Portland Oregon boudoir Photographer››

You know those shoots where the light is perfect?

And those shoots where your model needs almost zero directing?

Yeah. This was one of those…

I first met Sage through instagram. Awesome, right??

And I’d been itchin’ to do a not-so-done-up boudoir sess in the wild and wonderful wilderness that Oregon offers, and I wanted it to be with the right person. One day I saw an instagram pic from Sage show up in my feed, and instantly I was like, “ooooooooh! she’d be PERFECT!” So, I proceeded to add her as a facebook friend, and messaged her with a somewhat awkward question: “Hey, we don’t really know each other, but would you like to model…in your skivvies…outside…and let me take pictures???

Okay. I wasn’t awkward cousin Timmy, but I was a little nervous about approaching a stranger with such a delicate proposal. But since Sage is so awesome…she was totally down for a crazy adventure!!

I have to thank my friend, Jenna for allowing me to frolic around her property. I could not have asked for a more perfect location.

Here are some of my favorites from this shoot!

Highway 101 iPhoneography ‹‹personal››

Whales. Hotels. 300 ft trees. Private beaches. Crazy wind. Lots o’ food & coffee.

This past Saturday, Michael and I woke up and decided to take a spontaneous “un-plugged” trip down Highway 101 to see the Redwood Forest in Northern CA.

This was a no-makeup-no-hairdryer-no-deodorant kind of trip. Okay, I’m kidding about the deodorant.

Michael has been SUPER busy at work for the past 6 weeks…working 80+ hours each week trying make a tight deadline, so once they wrapped up, he got a few days off. A “no responsibilities” vacation was much needed!

I didn’t even bring my camera. But, who needs a $3000 camera when you own an iPhone? Not me!

Well, let’s not go crazy. I love my camera…but daaaaaang, iPhones take amazing pictures!

Highlight of the trip: I got to cross off something on my bucket list. We were about 30 miles down 101, and we stopped just south of Depoe Bay at this look-out. I knew whales were commonly sighted in this part of the Pacific, so, determined to see one, I stared out into the gray ocean. And like a regularly scheduled program, I spotted a blow hole! Not only did I see the blow-hole a few times, but its back came up out of the water, and then dipped back in, but not before flipping its TAIL in the air. I freaked out, and starting jumping up and down and clapping my hands. It was amazing.

I could have turned around right then and there, and the trip would have been worth it. But I’m glad we didn’t  😉

We pressed onward to the Redwoods and saw some breathtaking views along the way.

Here are some iPhone shots of the juicy sights. I processed these with VSCOcam app.

Rose ‹‹Do What You Love››

Do What You Love.

It’s a core belief Michael and I try to live by.

So. It only makes sense that we’re drawn to those who share this idea.

Enter, this series.

It’s a personal project for us. Finding others who are KILLIN’ it, living life, doing what they love. And then photographing them.

Today, I bring you my good friend, Rose.

She’s the mastermind behind Rosemary Stafford Floral Design.

Rose and I met through facebook – she was one of the random Portland wedding vendors that I befriended after moving here, with the hopes of one day working together. Well, months later, here we are. We’ve worked on multiple shoots together, and more importantly, we’ve laughed a LOT.

She’s talented, passionate, hilarious and inspiring. And she’s killin’ it, doing what she loves.

Enjoy a few of my faves. Happy Friday!  :-)
