Kelsey + Blaine ‹‹Columbia River Gorge Photographer››

So much to say about this couple.

Although, I can’t really say that Kelsey and I “go waaaaaay back” even though we met 7 years ago.

Wow. That makes me feel real old.

Seven years ago I was a freshman in college. So was Kelsey. We didn’t really hang out much, except she ended up being roommates with one of my good friends, so I was in her room from time-to-time. I just remember her as the girl who LOVED “I Love Lucy” and the girl who liked photography.

Our paths didn’t really cross during those four years of college, and she ended up marrying someone from her hometown – so I didn’t know Blaine. They started shooting weddings together and ended up shooting one of my BFFs weddings. I remember thinking, “Aw – that’s awesome…they’re doing photography together.”

Then we graduated college and I got married and then I started getting into photography.

I reached out to Kelsey with some questions about the business, and we just kept corresponding via facebook and email. Fast forward about 18 months and BOOM – Blaine surprises Kelsey with a trip to the west coast – their first stop being Portland!

It’s crazy that this trip was A) my first time meeting Blaine; and B) My first time reeeeally hanging out with Kels.

By the end of their 3-day stay, I felt like we had been long-time friends. We had SO much fun (you can see some random pics of our photo-walk in downtown Portland that I posted yesterday here), and I’m excited about our future trips together *awwwww*

Whilst they were vacationing in Portland, we squeezed in a photo sess, and I kinda wanted to kill two-birds with one stone so-to-speak. They wanted to see some beautiful sights, AND get their pics taken. So naturally, I drove them to one of my favorite spots in the Columbia River Gorge – Government Cove.

Here are just a few of my favorites from their shoot.

P.S. Check out their awesome work here:

Prancing around Downtown ‹‹Portland Photographer››

Last week we had some friends come and visit us for a few days. We ate a lot of food. Had some drinks. Laughed. And explored…a lot. Since this was their first trip to Portland, we crammed SO much sight-seeing in 3 days…I was exhausted by the end of it – in an awesome way.

Kelsey and Blaine are also photographers (check out their awesome work here), so naturally, a “good time” for the 4 of us was walking around with cameras.

We hopped on the street car and headed downtown with no real goal in mind – except to hit up Voodoo Doughnut.

We also crammed in a photo shoot with the two of them – but I’ll save those images for another post  😉

For now, enjoy some random pics from a *really hot* walk downtown.

Yes…we stood in that line. In the sun. It was awful.

Weird glitter wall.

Were they worth the wait?? Not sure. The bacon one was pretty delish though.

Rebekah + Alex ‹‹Portland Oregon Photographer››

5 years of love.

That’s something to celebrate, right??

Rebekah and Alex are going to renew their vows this Saturday for their 5th wedding anniversary. They’ll celebrate their love with friends and family…and I get to be there to capture it.  How lucky am I??

But those images will come later.

A few weeks ago we did a love shoot. It was that first really hot weekend where temps rose above 100 (what’s up with that Oregon?!). None of us wanted to prance around town in that heat, so we decided to wake up early and shoot in the morning.

It was a quiet Sunday morning, and most people were probably still in their pjs (except for the huge line at Voodoo Donut, of course). I’ve never seen the city look so peaceful. I liked it.

BTW – If you’re a bride, and you’re looking for some killer vintage rentals and/or styling for your big day, not only are Rebekah and Alex super cute, but they are the masterminds behind A & B Creative – go check them out!!

Cat + Matthew ‹‹Portland Elopement Photographer››

Cat and Matthew.

I knew we were going to hit it off immediately when Cat’s initial email said they were moving ‘cross country from Chicago and wanted to immediately elope. Yes, please. Seeing as how Michael and I just moved ‘cross country to Portland back in January, we already had something special in common.

They arrived in Portland.

We met for coffee.

And became friends.

They might be the cutest couple ever…and to top it off, they own literally the cutest dog in the world – Norman. He stole the first part of our portrait time – I took about 100 pictures of him and just sat at my computer for an hour trying to narrow down his shots for this blog post…and failed.

Anyway. Enjoy a few of my favorites from their intimate elopement under the St. John’s bridge in Cathedral Park.

Coming Up…

Some good things have gone down in the past few weeks…a love shoot…an elopement…and a stylized shoot.

I thought I’d share a few frames. Some I can blog soon, and some will have to wait.

Happy Monday!  :-)
